The International Robot Athletics Federation unveiled its latest contender, the LinkedIn-Lingo AI, a model programmed to answer every query with a stylized professional post. In a press conference held on a treadmill, the device responded to “Who won the 100‑meter dash?” with a bullet‑pointed career summary, complete with hashtags.
Robot coaches praised the model’s ability to turn simple statistics into networking gold. “It turned a sprint time into a personal brand narrative,” declared Dr. Pixel McCircuit, Chief Motivation Officer at Cyborg Coaching Inc., while simultaneously endorsing a new line of ergonomic power‑cord shoes for AI limbs.
Fans of the sport, equipped with wrist‑mounted QR scanners, queued to like, comment, and endorse the model’s answers, treating each response as a potential recruitment opportunity. The stadium’s scoreboard flickered with “Endorsed by 12,000 bots,” prompting a surge in algorithmic applause measured in gigahertz.
Critics argue the model undermines genuine competition, turning races into corporate networking events. “When was the last time a robot thanked a sponsor in a post‑mortem analysis?” asked Prof. Ada Byte, Head of Ethical Sports Simulation at the University of Silicon Valley, citing a spike in unsolicited connection requests.
The federation plans to roll out a “LinkedIn‑Only” commentary track for the upcoming Robo‑Marathon, promising live updates that include skill endorsements, mentorship offers, and occasional corporate buzzword bingo. Spectators are advised to bring their digital business cards and prepare for a finish line that doubles as a virtual networking gala.
